Interview with Jim Smith
About His Accelerated Muscular Development (AMD) Program

Interview with Jim Smith About His Accelerated Muscular Development (AMD) Program

If you remember, my good friend Jim Smith released his Accelerated Muscular Development (AMD) program earlier this year and I asked him to sit down and talk about the success of the program and answer a few of my questions.

CriticalBench.com: What's up Smitty, thanks for taking the time today to talk to my readers about AMD.

Jim: No problem, I appreciate the opportunity!

CriticalBench.com: I knew AMD was going to be big, but tell me what happened after the launch?

Jim: I was overwhelmed actually. I was so amazed at the great support in the fitness community from all of my peers, guys like Alwyn Cosgrove, Eric Cressey, Mike Robertson, Mike Hanley, Robert Dos Remedios, Sean Hyson (Fitness Editor for Men's Fitness), just to name a few. For me, it was about putting out a program that really changed lives and provided people who love to train with a complete muscle building program. Also, everyone who purchased the program started flooding my inbox with how great they were feeling after 1 week on the program and how much progress they were making. That is what I was most excited about.

CriticalBench.com: Complete program? I know we've talked about this but what do you mean?

Jim: When you see most programs, what do they say? For example, they immediately start with 4 sets of 10 on the bench, or 3 sets of 12 for squats. Do they expect you to go into the gym and start hitting reps on the bench?

We spend 1 hour (or less in the gym with the fast muscle building workouts of AMD) and this is a very short time when you look at the overall 24 hour a day window. We must "overcome" all of the negative stuff we do everyday in that 1 hour; things like playing Xbox for hours or sitting at the computer all day.

Interview with Jim Smith About His Accelerated Muscular Development (AMD) Program

We can't just go into the gym and start hitting reps with a bunch of weight. That is why people love the efficiency of the done-for-you, easy-to-use AMD template system.

CriticalBench.com: Tell me about the AMD easy-to-follow blueprint.

Jim: The goal of AMD is to provide a complete muscle building system. That means it tells you exactly what to do from the time you step into the gym until the time you leave. I have gotten so much positive feedback about this because people usually are so confused. They want their entire workout laid out for them so they can efficiently move from one exercise to the other AND then get out of the gym.

The template of the AMD system is great. There are things you need to do once you get into the gym like warm-up, activate muscles that have been "shutdown" and start improving your mobility, so you move and feel better. All of this is built into the system. And it is this template that you can apply to all of your programs for the rest of your life.

CriticalBench.com: You mean that you can do other programs and use the AMD blueprint?

Interview with Jim Smith About His Accelerated Muscular Development (AMD) Program Jim: Exactly!

Lifters have asked can I do 5/3/1 with the AMD system, can I do DoggCrapp, can I do Westside, etc. - the answer is YES! Any program will fit into the AMD template.

AMD teaches you what is included in a good muscle and strength building program so you can take this knowledge (and system) with you once you finish the killer 16 week AMD workouts.

That is the great thing about it.

AMD provides you with fast workouts that produce insane results, check out some of the transformation on the AMD site! But it also gives you the key to longevity. Don't you want to be lifting for many years to come? If so, you have to do the warm-up, you have to do the activation and you have to do the mobility stuff. It is all there for you. Quick and simple.

CriticalBench.com: Congrats on all the success of AMD bro, and I am so excited you came out with the program. It really opened up peoples eyes that good workouts can be done in 40 minutes or less and still get amazing results. I also love the template system because many people didn't realize all of these other exercises were so important to keeping them healthy and strong.

Jim: Thank you for letting me talk about AMD. I love changing peoples lives and it's great to get those cool emails in my inbox everyday!
