This is a very important lesson from the world famous writer Mark Twain. What he means with this quote is basically; stay away from people who drag you down!
These are the people full of negativity who never see the possibilities; they see obstacles and problems.
These are the people who might say: "Why are trying to lose weight" instead of saying "Oh, that is so great that you are trying to lose weight and change your lifestyle". Other examples can be put into this problem, but I guess you get the point.
There will always be people around you who will not feel joy for your success and accomplishments, and these are the people that deep down are insecure, unhappy and selfish = small people.
Do not let others control your life. You have the power to decide the outcome and your future! Do not let anyone else tell you what you can and can not be.
What I have done is to get rid of people with that attitude. It may sound brutal, but think about it. People who only question the things you are doing and have a negative attitude, what could you possibly get out of that relationship?
These people tend to be selfish in nature and always put themselves in the centre, no matter if it has to do with business, personal or health issues.
The bottom line is: Surround yourself with people who believe in you and that you can count on. Negative people will only drag you down and stop you from reaching your dreams and being the person you really want to be!
Don't let anyone tell you what you can and can not do!
