After receiving his college degree, Roland went on to compete in the European National Bodybuilding Championships and was named MR. AUSTRIA". It was then that he decided to pursue his dream and move to the US. Within a year all the hard work paid off when he joined the Professional ranks and signed up to represent the leader in health and fitness, Joe Weider. In that capacity, Roland has been featured on the cover of many body building magazines such as Muscle and Fitness, Flex, Ironman, Musclemag, Sportsman, Sport & Fitness and Health for Life. Roland's competitions since arriving to the US have included Mr. Miami Classic (89), Newcomer Champion Austria (92), Mr. Powerhouse (94), Mr. Muscle Beach (94), Mr. Universe (95), Arnold Classic (96), San Jose Pro Invitational (97), Night of the Champions (97), Ironman (98), San Francisco Pro Invitational (98), Ironman (99) and Arnold Classic (99).
