About Max
Max Riley is a freelance supplement writer who has had his work appear in numerous print and Internet magazines. He has been training for over 13 years, and currently resides in California. He enjoys researching and studying supplements, and supplement combinations and stacks.
When not behind the keyboard, Max can be found in the gym lifting heavy weight. He has a love of both competitive bodybuilding and powerlifting, and enjoys the challenge of heavy lifting. His best lifts to date are a 525 pound squat, a 580 pound deadlift, and a 400 pound bench. He believes that progression is the key to gains for both sports, and that beginners should exhaust linear progression before moving on to complicated lifting protocols.
Max was once a self-proclaimed anti-supplement evangelist. "Once I got over my stubbornness, and actually started to experiment with supplements - I mean really get scientific with them - I found many to be highly beneficial." His current favorites supplements include BCAAs, glutamine, fish oil, and nitric oxide.
