Let’s keep this simple. If you’d like to win one of ten free copies I’m giving out of my new Bench Press Explosion eBook that contains 18 of the best bench press routines I have ever come across here’s your big chance!
The problem as I see it is addressing how powerbuilders can simultaneously achieve big numbers in their bench press weight and still develop sculptured, striated pecs in a minimal amount of time. That is the challenge I strive to address with this book.
Here’s what you need to do for a chance to win.
Look over these two interview posts below (will open in new windows) where I talk about my powerbuilding approach to bench pressing for BOTH strength and size.
Part 1: How To Bench Press 300 Pounds & Beyond!
Part 2: How To Bench Press 300 Pounds & Beyond!
Now leave a comment below on this page using 250 words or less explaining why you want to increase your bench press to get bigger and stronger and how my new eBook Bench Press Explosion would help you reach your goals of gaining this strength and size.
This contest will be open until the end of the day on Monday, March 12th. Everyone has the same fair chance to win and all entries will be read. Just do me a favor and don’t use lack of finances as a reason you want to win. Even if you don’t win I’m going to make this super affordable so everyone can get their hands on it next week when it’s released.
Good luck. Enter you comment below to win. Contest ends at the end of the day on March 12th.
Thanks for the opportunity Mike. I would like to obtain one of your free programs because I have been training now for over 18 years and have had to learn the hard way how to train and what works best for me. Never had the priviledge to have a strength coach in high school or college; I had to learn the hard way (popped/torn BOTH of my rotators in 2002 and 2004 respectfully to learn what not to do when benching heavy regularly – both times I did flat DB presses AFTER flat Bench presses & Incline Presses/ Flat flyes; followed a body building chest program for 6 years)—-anyway wish I had the knowledge that you offer in your critical bench 2.0 program back then. It took me 10 months to heal and get back to normal working out. IT would be great to have 18 of your most productive programs now that I have changed my training to more of a PowerBodybuilding and have just come off of a 19 month layoff back in Sept 2011 due to job/work issues (Forced to work 12 hr rotating shifts- switching every 3 DAYS!). I think that I could really benefit from these programs given my past history and current work situation.

Anyway, with my current work schedule and previous injury history, I believe that your best 18+ programs would help me to get not only some of my old strength back but also help me to make the most of limited training time at home/gym. I am currently doing shoulder presses again (worked up to 90lbs/hand) and bench 275lbs very comfortably. Would love to learn HOW to bring that bench up without risking my rotators again. I also started to do rear delts and use home_gym.com’s “Shoulder Horn”. I would really like to see what your new programs could do for me given my past injuries (from doing flat DB presses) to a very hectic work schedule. Thanks, Chris Verebelyi; ac.ocegocnull@iyleberevc
Dear Mike,
I am 49 years old and lifting weights for the past 31 years. Though I was lifting heavy in squats, dead lifts and presses I was not lifting much in benches. This lead to poor development of my pecs. After going through your articles I had a new lease of life and started doing benches in good form. My pecs were screaming and developing.
I have forgotten my age and have started benching heavy.
Thanks a lot for the motivation and confidence you instilled in me.
AGE DOES NOT MATTER! IT IS ALL IN THE BELIEF YOU HAVE!
life begins at 40!!
so here I am knocking on the door of 40 and what do I do? Well rather than spend my life wallowing in self pity, I get my ass in the gym and keep doing what I’m doing. I just started Powerlifting about a year ago and I have really enjoyed competing. the one thing that really gets me down is my bench sucks, i work and work at it, trying all different routines for at least 10 weeks, rest well eat well and I get pretty much no real growth. my dead lifts are sound 600Lbs+ and my squats 650+ but my bench is poor. Now thats not the depressive, thats the realist!!
I love the training, the challenge of lifting big big numbers, but also I do enjoy the volume training too. however I cant be the only person who love doing squat and deads!! I just wish I could be as “balls to the wall” happy about the benching. so go on please throw me a bone, you never know you might see me at the WPC Powerlifting World Championships in Vegas for November!
Hi, I am Kristopher from Panamá. I want to win the e boook, because I want the knowledge and advices of experts. I have so many problemswith my muscle, I workout, but I don’t see growing, my chest is flat and want to follow that program and see results. Thanks
This is my goal to get bigger arms in the correct way of learning. I think your methods will work for me. I’m trying to get bigger biceps and chest. What I’m doing is not working I can only tell 20% of my pay offs. Your program will help me 110%. I dont want to look like a body builder I want to look muscular and fit. So my next reuion at high school they will know the guy they always picked on and made fun of. They can say what the heck happend to him (let em pick on me now).
In working out, I’ve never had great success with my bench or building my chest. Now I’m getting older and out of shape and think this could help me get back on track so I can be stronger and healthier for myself and my family.
I have spent my life as a sub 300lb bench presser. I can squat 500+ and dead lift 600+, but I have consistently stayed under 290 pounds on the bench press. It is very embarrassing. I know this book will be targeted and precise. I’m excited about it even if I don’t win because I know I will be getting new routines. Stay strong my friends.
I am 51 yrs. old and have spent the last 30 years of my life serving my country in the Army. I started working out with weights again 3 months ago and feel great. I am a bit beat up and have been told that I need shoulder and neck surgery but am trying to avoid that for now by getting myself strong again. When I played college football I weighed 205 pounds and benched 380 pounds. I want 300+ again on the bench and would love to learn from your eBook.
Why do I want the book? So I can become stronger. Stronger then the guys who only lift a couple times a week while I’m lifting 5 times a week. I want it to get the most out of my training. I want it so I can share the information with everyone else and help others achieve their goals as well. I want it because passion and effort can only go so far without all the knowledge.
Plain and simple. After training my ass off for 3 years, I can’t bench press more than 185lbs with a 180 bodyweight. I could definitely make good use of this book. Thank you.
Mike,
I have been following you and Elliot for some time know and have to say most of the advice you give is solid. I am 47 years old and have been stuck lately getting over a 300lb bench. I would love the opportunity to put this program in practice and see if I can blow past a 400lb bench! There is so much information on the market but I do trust you and feel I can accoplish goal safely. Thanks for the oppoertunity.
BUENO YO QUIERO EL MANUAL POR QUE QUIERO SER TAN GRANDE Y TAN FUERTE COMO PUEDA SER PARA MI FAMILIA, SOY ENDOMORFO Y CREO QUE ME VERIA Y ME HARIA SENTIR MUCHO MUY BIEN…
I am always looking for techniques and training tips to aid me in power lifting competition.
Hey Guys,
So I’m a personal trainer, a grad student getting my masters in physical education, and a head soccer coach. Being active and physical is my life. I (like many young guys) use to overtrain when i was younger around my freshman year of undergrad. I became addicted to the idea of the bench. After that phase i learned to appreciate the whole combination of a well balanced work out routine, a healthy diet and a good sleep schedule. I just recently had a set-back with a herniated disc in my back and a flattened thecal sac in my back. I would LOVE this program to kick-start my workout routine once i am cleared to lift again. I am always yearning for my knowledge and i don’t train your typical 3 sets of 10 (and apparently you guys don’t either with recommendations of heavy triples)- and i would love to test out your new routines!! Thanks so much!
I look forward to being a receipient of on of these books. I work out hard and yet have not achieved the chest I am ,looking for. Please assist me in this endeavor by awarding me one of these books. Thanks
I need to increase my bench to get a better and sculpted chest cause all the chest exercises I do I barrly get any results
Hi, My name is Gabriel. I use to power lift until I had to undergo spine surgery which it was success. Now, training again and starting all over. I want to compete again. I at least could do bench press competitions for now unitl I get back out there. I am just looking for something to kick start my goals and this book could do that for me. I am ready to compete. Thank You
I am getting back into going to the gym after a few years off for personal reasons and injury. It is hard to believe how much strength and endurance you loose in such a period of time.
I would love to get back to my hay-days and show people that 360+ bench was in my past and it can be in my future as well. Being in my early 40’s isn’t going to make it easy, but with help and instruction from this book, I’m sure I can get there quickly.
Ive been out of competitve lifting for a few years now and im trying to get back into it slowly and have been training for a year now but just cant get back where i used to be. With this book I could learn some new techniques and routines for working out and get my bench back up.
Hi mike,
Weightlifting is the second most important thing for me after school and family. I started lifting back in mid high school and i never realized how important it was to not do isolation exercises rather do compound exercises. My friend had a huge benchpress but mine was less than double what he could bench I want to become a powerlifter and get my bench press up to its maximum fast and effectively, hopefully through your ebook. My bench press was always low it started at 100 pounds and after 4 1/2 months it is still only at 174. i have followed all of your emails specifically the 7 steps to a bigger benchpress where you talk about tucking in your elbows and isolating the range of motion for a better lift. I think my chest has a lot of potential however i need a proper guideline for benching so i can bench more and more. Thanks for all your emails and tips on weightlifting they are great.
My name is Dan and I am 64 years old. I started lifting when I was 12, stopped when I went into the service at 19. I trained again seriously in my 40’s and benched 315 at 180#. Then life got in the way for the last 20 years. I started training again 6 months ago and feel great! My squat and dl are going back up steadily but my bench sucks. I would like to be able to bench a respectable amount again and know that your program will keep me on track and injury free.

HEY GUY, I’M A YOUNG 51YR GUY THAT HAS HAD IS SHARE OF INJURIES AND ALWAYS BOUNCE BACK. TO BE ABLE TO BENCH 300 WOULD BE A MAJOR ACCOMPLISH IN MY LIFE. I HAVE BENCHED 295 BACK IN MY YOUNGER DAYS. AS MUCH AS I WOULD LOVE TO BOWL A PERFECT GAME OF 300, BENCHING 300 WITH YOUR EXPERT ADVISE IS MY ULTIMATE GOAL!!! THANKS, MIKE.
Well , I would appreciate winning the . It can be very beneficial to me and my benching. Seems like I’ve been stuck when my benching. I’ve tried chains. Floor presses. Band and boards. But to no success, in competing. It’s very hard when your stuck at the same weight, can be very depressing
After placing 2nd at state in the bench press exactly 20 years ago, I figured I could teach my 13 year old son some easy tricks to get stronger. My old school “easy” tricks were lifting 2hrs+ 5 days a week, using negatives and massive weights. For some reason he is not too keen with my plan, but we are both avid readers of Critical Bench and would love to win your eBook.
I would live to win a copy, I work two jobs , volunteer and just started my own business so when I work I need to know I am doing it the right way. With the book I can excel in the gym and out. Thank you and keep up the good work!
After years of lifting, I blew my hip out doing squats. I had no insurance at the time, so ofter of year of self recovery, I feel able to get back in the gym and lift again…yay!!!
I feel this would help me accelerate back to the regimen I had before my mishap.
Thank you…
Why do I want 2 win the book?? Well when it comes 2 working out I feel there is noone else in the gym as dededicated. & determined as me 4…With the right knowledge under my belt I can achieve the goals I have made 4 myself & b the best at what I do…BODYBUILDING!!!!
I have been using the critical bench program V2 for a while now . I went from 308 lbs to 374 lbs bench. My body weight fluctuates between 225 – 230 lbs
My goal this year is to crack the 400+ lbs mark. Bench Press explosion is what I need to break the plateau.
Critical Bench V2 got me started now I want to finish with an Bang !
I had lower back surgery in summer of 2011. I am now starting to get my strength back and would like to get my bench back up. Due to the surgery I have had to adapt my lifting from powerlifting to bodybuilding training. I am much leaner now, because of this, and feel healthier. These programs are exactly what I need.
I grew up as the 95lbs weakling and have been doing everything I possibly can to destroy that image in my past – I have worked out on and off for the majority of my life but that last 2 years I have been doing it daily and seeing some great results – over the last year my bench has improved from a pitiful 205 to a solid 300 and here I have plateaued – I am a professional student and try to read and learn as much as I can about the things that interest me, ie bodybuilding and powerlifting – I am in the best shape of my life at 41 – still have some body fat that needs to disappear but wanting to be able to reach my goal of benching 400 by 31 December 2012 is foremost in my mind – everything I have read from you to this point has been spot on and I look forward to reading this new book whether I win it or whether I buy it – either way I will have it
Bench press is the weakest part of my workout. I need this!!!
I am the eldest heavy lifter in the gym. I am sixty two years old and my routine consIsts of dumbbell curls at 110, skull crushers at 150 and dumbbell press at 100. At fifty two I benched 410. Not bad for an old timer.
I have been lifting for 20+ years and used to compete in Bench Meets with a best of 505 raw and 535 single ply.. Bad shoulders have put a damper on my efforts and I am looking at a possible shoulder replacement. Maybe this will help me regain my former numbers and put off the shoulder replacement.
Just do your best and forget the rest!!! but now my Best is got to get Better..
Hi Mike, I have got back in weight training over the past few years. I was trying as you say a bodybuilding type workout for looks this kept me trim and lost the spare tyre. But at 54 recovery is a real problem I want to know how to pitch my training right so as to let my nervous system recover so I can train on more consistant basis. Latley I am less concerned with trying to look bettter but always want to leave my personal best at the Gym.
And of course everyone always wants to bench press more!
I want it
Mike,
A few years ago I benched 325 at 188 lbs, and as a college pitcher going into my senior year. Not long into my senior year I tore my labrum and 50% of my rotator cuff. The doctor told me that I should never try to pitch again because of the rotator cuff issue. My athletic trainer told me I would NEVER be able to bench 300 again. Well 10 months later I just missed locking 290 at 195 lbs, now I have decided to do powerlifting competitions, and would love to prove to everyone that will power can overcome what experts tell you is no longer possible.
I have always hit a wall when benching. I’ll get a little stronger but then my shoulders start to hurt and I have to back off. I need a better routine that will allow me to get bigger, stonger, more sculpted, and not hurt my shoulders.

Hey Mike,
I would really love to win BENCH PRESS EXPLOSION !! At 52 years old I have trained and overtrained trying to crack and stay above the 300lb. mark. I have a 40 y.o. work out partner that is stuck also. I have watched your videos and tried to incorporate some of the tips you have given, but to no avail. My goal is to hit the 315 mark before the end of the summer and to move up to 365 by New Years. We work shoulders only on the first day of the week and don’t hit chest until 3 days later. Really frustrated !! Help !
What my main goal is, and hopefully your e-book addresses, is how to continue to bench, and lift in general, past injury.
I’m 46, and in recent years have managed to mess up both my shoulders in different ways. One is a bad rotator, the other I think is the biceps tendon. With the rotator, I can’t even do more than a few pushups without starting to feel pain, which my doctors have told me means it is time to stop immediately. When I try the bench, I can only do so with very light weight in order not to feel uncomfortable, and then of course it doesn’t feel like I’m getting any benefits out of the exercise.
So if your e-book address working around (or through) injuries, I’d love to get my hands on it. It’ll be well worth purchasing even if I don’t win it. Thanks.
I don’t expect anything in return, but it will not hurt to ask. I am a former US Navy person. I spent several years patroling and keeping our homeland safe. We usually kept in shape training for our missions. Now that it is over (active duty) I would like to keep in shape with what you have to offer. I now train women in self defense for free, using what I was trained to do in the Navy. I get great response from the training and I would love to get that physique back I once had. (It looks better if you are physically fit training in what I do now.) Like I said, I don’t expect anything in return, but if it weren’t for guys like myself you would not be able to do what you all here at home get to do. Don’t take it for granted!
My passion is to help others improve their lives. By learning more about benching techniques, I can internalize your critical information and accelerate the progress of the younger folks I train.
The youth is our future…I need your help to assure that our future is strong!
Josh

Tips on body building!!!!!!

Hi Mike.
I’ve sat a goal to increase my bench press record, but have found trouble getting out of this evil circle that started when I joined an arrangement that made all my time off go to sleep (less than four hours of sleep for approximately two months, that also made me drop out of my good training habbits). And this is for about three months back. I even had trouble taking my last record in bench press right after the arrangement. After this I’ve never gotten any further on increasing my bench press record. I’ve just lost the motivation to train like I had before this arrangement, and for this reason I’m stuck on my last record for now. Your ebook bench press explosion will help me get my motivation back, and show me what I’m doing wrong when it comes to increasing my last records. I want to become stronger than I was back then! Thanks 🙂
Everything above in the emails that people have said applies for me. There is nothing I can add that would be noteworthy – whether it be injuries, age, lack of success despite years of trying, or whatever. Yes, I would love to read the book. I am sure it has some great information. But in all honesty, and even though I might buy the book anyway, my guess is that it is a lot of the same information that has been around, just repackaged.
Sixty and still pumping iron. Can’t wait to get a shot at the Bench Press Explosion and adding pounds to my bench
